Tanner Times in 2012
We’re having a baby!
In a few weeks we will be adding one more to our family. Our baby girl is
expected to come in late January. The girls are all excited and can’t wait to
have their own baby in the house!
We moved to Atlanta. Mark got a new job with
Assurant Solutions. He now manages actuarial for products sold in Puerto Rico,
and he enjoys the myriad opportunities to practice his Spanish. People are very
friendly here, and we are really enjoying the mild winter, especially after all
that went on the last couple winters in Connecticut.
We traveled. We went to Boston
and NYC several times and enjoyed seeing the sites. Mark and Sarah got to see
Newsies on Broadway which was a real treat! We explored Plymouth and Cape Cod (awesome!).
This spring we went to Philadelphia. In addition to the history, there is a
Sesame Theme park there which the girls LOVED! We also spent a few days up in
Maine. This summer we visited lots of family in Utah, including a reunion on
the Hansen side. Since arriving in Atlanta we’ve been to a few athletic events,
watched the fish in the aquarium, and traveled down to Pine Mountain Georgia.
Just before Thanksgiving we also drove to Iowa to see Sarah’s parents off on
their church mission to Sapporo, Japan, and we stopped in Missouri to see
Mark’s parents. Phew!
We made music. Sarah took violin
lessons for 4 months after a 10-year hiatus. Mark & Sarah performed in a
recital of music we had been working on. After not playing much for the last
few years (the girls always want to “help” us practice), it was fun to have a
goal. We also recorded a CD of songs with Adriana and Matthew (Mark’s brother),
including several original compositions. You can find the music on iTunes if
you search Mark Tanner, Little Star. (Well it's not there yet, but soon will be on iTunes)
Adriana. She loves all the preschool
activities and playing with new friends. She has such a love and excitement for
everything she does. She is quite the artist and loves to draw anything. She is
also learning to read, which will bring new light to all the books she loves to
‘read’.
Elena. She loves singing! She has developed
quite the vocabulary and loves to tell us every- thing she is doing and in her
best way. She enjoys playing house with her sisters, even when she plays the
part of the dog for extended periods of time. She is compassionate and loves to
share.
Abigail.
She also loves playing with her sisters and can’t wait until Adriana gets home
from school. She is talking a lot and enjoys ‘reading’ books out loud. She
loves to laugh and finds joy in little things. She also walks amazingly well in
her princess heels and loves her cowgirl boots!
