Brazil

Mark was looking at accepting a job in Sao Paulo, Brazil and as we were deciding they flew us down to check everything out. It was a great trip and really helped us to see the area, schools and the cost of living, which is surprisingly very high. We didn't do a lot of sight-seeing, but I still wanted to include a few fun pictures. We decided not to take the job, but it was still a great experience and we met some wonderful people.

Eating at a famous Churrascaria... meat, meat and more meat. It was exceptional

One of the days while Mark went to the office, Christine and I explored Ibirapuera Park. It is a huge park with playgrounds, walking/running paths and several museums. We went to the Museum of Modern Art, AfroBrazilian Museum, and another one called Bienal that has rotating exhibits. It was fun and educational.

I really liked this mural of a map of thinking. Very interesting.
The art museum had hundreds of dried oranges with letters carved out in them.
Christine loved it!

A wall of portraits. I took a drawing class in the spring and realized how difficult this type of picture is.

This exhibit was just lots of lists. So my life!

In the Afrobrazil museum, a circus.

An Obelisk symbolizing the revolution.

Visiting the central market. Delicious fruits!

It was great to see the girls again! We brought them home some Havaianas flip flops.

Fall Break Surprises

This year the girls had a week off of school for Fall break in September. We didn't do a big trip, but decided to do something fun each day including a daily surprise for the girls. It was really fun and kept them guessing. Monday was our biggest day. We went apple picking with some friends. Then we went to Amicalola Falls which was beautiful. As we were heading home we decided to stop at a pumpkin patch. It was a fun, busy day!

Christine trying it out.

Pumpkin Patch fun!

These pumpkins were massive!!

I think the girls' favorite part was getting a ride in the wheelbarrow.

Since Monday was our big day we ended with a few more surprises... We did a progressive dinner at fast food places. I don't have pictures for all of them, but we started at Smoothie King, got bread sticks at Little Ceasers, fries and a hamburger at Wendys, and ended with nuggets and ice cream at McDonalds. We didn't tell the girls that we were going to multiple places and they assumed we were going home after each place. It was pretty funny to see their reactions.

Tuesday we went to the grocery store and they each got to pick something to have with dinner. We ended up with french bread, Gatorade, chips and cookies. Then we went swimming. I love night swimming ;)

Wednesday we had another big one. We visited our friends, the Binghams, from Connecticut and got to see their horses! The girls got to brush and sit on one. They loved it!! We even went swimming in their pool afterwards, and joined them for dinner.

We had s'mores for dessert and Christine couldn't get enough!

Tues, Wed and Thurs Adriana went to an art camp which she loved! and we had fun at the park.

"We don't look  alike at all"

Thursday we had a glow stick bath which was a definite hit!

Friday we got mini Cinnabon. Horray to a fun-filled week!
