10
– It Snowed over 60”of
snow in January alone! There was a huge snowstorm (8 to 24 inches) every week
for 6 weeks in a row! This was a rude reminder that, “We’re not in Texas
anymore, Adriana!”
9
– Mark officially received his FSA,
and we joined him in Atlanta to celebrate.
8
– We traveled. In May, we
went to Newport Beach, CA for a Hansen Family Reunion (the biggest yet). We enjoyed
relaxing, Disney-ing, and all being together. The cousins enjoyed playing at
the beach and throughout the resort. We also went on a quick trip to Utah to
visit other family.
7
– The storms continued.
This summer, tornadoes touched down near us (for the first time in over 30
years), an earthquake shook our house (which never happen in Connecticut) and
there was a hurricane (which almost never reaches this far inland). Then to top
it off we got 6” of snow on Oct. 29 (before the leaves had fallen off the
trees) and lost power for 4 days (doesn’t seem like a long time, but it sure
turns your world upside down). There should be holidays for Benjamin Franklin
and Thomas Edison.
6
– Adriana started preschool.
And she loves it! She goes 2 mornings a week and enjoys sharing all the songs
she learns and the new letters/numbers they are working on.
5
– We discovered more of the Northeast.
We have enjoyed several trips to Boston and NYC, as well as Niagara Falls, and Palmyra,
NY, to see some church history sites. In the fall we traveled to Williamsburg,
VA and the Catskill mountains in NY with Sarah’s parents. It was a great trip
and the girls thrived on all the extra attention.
4
– Sarah ran her first marathon.
Yep, 26.2 miles in 4 hours 17 minutes. The training was a great time to get out
and clear her head (and ears of little voices).
3
– Adriana turned 3. She has really turned into a little
girl. She loves life and gets so excited about everything. She loves to sing
and make up her own words and music, dance, read any book she can find and
especially loves to read them to her little sisters. Adriana is very inquisitive
and loves to learn.
2
– Elena turned 1. We can’t believe that more than a year
has past, but Elena has grown so much and loves to use the small vocabulary she
is acquiring. She is very friendly with everyone and sensitive to others. She
and Abigail also love to read (like their big sister) and talk on the phone.
1
– And 1 minute later
Abigail turned 1. Abigail
has also changed a lot and is so much fun to have around. She likes being silly
and making her sisters laugh. Although we don’t understand all her words, she
loves to tell us about things. She is a connoisseur of shoes and tries on any
that she can find.
That pretty
much sums up our year. Everything else is a blur; between keeping Elena &
Abigail off the many objects they climb on, feeding and diapering, and enjoying
how cute they and Adriana are.
