Grandma Hansen came to visit and we had so much fun! I did a Suzuki Teacher training course so she came to watch the kids. She was able to stay a few days around that week so we could all go out and have some fun. We picked blueberries, went to Yankee Candle, Boston, several places in CT including the beach, and Newport, RI which was amazing!!! The girls loved all the fun things grandma brought to do with them and Adriana tried to convince her that grandpa wouldn't mind if she just stayed. Here are the pictures...

We had Adriana's old shoes out and the girls wanted to try them on. Here's Elena in her cowboy boots. She did the funniest walk in them.

Then we had a little diversion for the kids. We didn't have any swimsuits, but it's amazing how panties can turn in to a swimsuit just like that. They all loved the chance to run a little and cool off.

The monument at Bunker Hill. Unlike the Washington Monument, this one just has stairs. 294 of them. Mark was kind enough to stay with the kids while my mom and I climbed it. Normally it wouldn't be that bad, but after a 10 mile run in the morning and walking around Boston all day, it was exhausting, but worth it.

Then we continued on up the coast to an island in Rhode Island called Newport. So back in the early 1900s several families of importance built summer 'homes' or mansions to get away from NYC. Now some of them have been preserved and you can tour them. It is AMAZING!!!! We toured 2 of them and were in awe at all that went into building them.
At the first house, Rosecliff, we wanted to get a picture of Elena & Abigail on this bench, but they weren't as excited. "You mean we have to sit on the bench and we can't climb all over it?"

This is the Vanderbilt house, called the Breakers since it is also right on the ocean. I couldn't even get the whole house, but it is huge. Inside it is ornamented with everything you can think of. Platinum wall paneling in one room and gold leaf throughout the house.
