Galapagos Part 2 Isabela y Santa Cruz

After getting checked into our hotel, we walked around Puerta Villamil. It's a small town. We went to the beach and swam, and booked a tour for the next day. Dinner at a fun pizza place. Our Airbnb was so cute! We loved it!

The loft in our room where Savannah and Christine slept.

Digging a hole is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do...

We loved having Grandma and Grandpa with us!

You can see the flamingo back in the distance if you squint.

We went to a turtle sanctuary where they have turtles of all stages.

Not enough room, we'll make it work.

First time snorkeling for the kids!

This church in Puerto Villamil looked like Noah's Ark

We did the Tintoreras tour which was so awesome! We went to another small island off of Isabela and saw blue footed bobbies, penguins and sharks!!

Later we snorkeled over white tipped sharks like this

Lots of lava rocks

There was tons of coral on this island from an El Niño about 20 years ago.

Ready for more snorkeling, this time with the sharks.

The piers were always fun to go to at night. Sometimes the water was lit up so you could see the fish.

This AirBnB was so cool! Our host was fantastic and it was a great space. The kids loved this map of the islands.

We went on a tour to see some of the highland areas. The first was los gemelos. 2 craters made from lava that hardened and then collapsed. The surrounding area is like rainforest. And it was cooler up there.

The second stop was a turtle refuge called El Chato. There were some VERY large turtles!

We also got to go through some lava tunnels! Reminded some of us of the Lunar Chronicles.

We spotted this owl right outside the lava tunnels.

In the late afternoon, many of the turtles find a nice mudhole to soak in and keep warm.

We usually snacked for lunch and then found a fun place to eat dinner. Lots of yummy food!

That white is not paint, it's poop!

Lots of different cacti

The black lava rocks on the beaches were so pretty!

This was a fun snorkel place called Las Grietas.

Always a sea lion nearby

Our Airbnb had the cutest little puppy. The kids had fun playing with her.

Our Airbnb host took the little on a motorcycle ride to the boat. She was so kind!
