Trip to Branson Dec 2020

We were able to go to Branson, Missouri for a week and we had a great time! We are grateful to my parents in letting us use their week. It was cold, but we had fun being in a new location and out of the house. We went to a couple of shows and did lots of swimming. The best was swimming in the snow!

A stop at Hurts Donut

Winter Wonderland

My buddy

Our elves even followed us there!

A delicious meal at Bob's Dairyland

Downtown Branson

The awesome water show! We didn't even need to go to the Bellagio :)

A message from our elves

We all went ice skating!

We have wanted to see SIX for a long time. It was worth the wait!

More pool time

Do you want to build a snowman??

You don't get to swim in the snow very often. It was nice and warm. We loved the hot tub too!

November 2020

This month we did lots of fun things all month long! School is all back full time for elementary, but Adriana is still doing hybrid. I've also substituted a few more times. I even got to teach Abigail's class the end of October.

Superwoman Elena!

We decided to have a girls trip. Adriana, Savannah and I went to get our nails done. We thought it was her last day of hybrid, but I was wrong. :)

For our family night activity we painted bread. Always a favorite!

Sticker fun!

We threw a shower for Emily Shill and her #5. Ann Morris made this cute motorcycle. It was a fun party. We did s'mores by the fire. The rain even held out till we finished.

Fun at the pool

I'm in the Des Moines Community Orchestra and we had our first concert. It was broadcast and we were spread-out in the auditorium. Different, but fun to play again.

Elena's hermit crab Joy died so we buried her in the back yard.

Celebrating my half birthday!

We started getting ready for Christine's baptism by making a music video to the song Mark wrote for her. She did a great job!

A special challenge from Presiden Nelson to #givethanks every day for a week. Think of someone or something we are grateful for and share it.

Grandma Tanner sent us this fun costume from Mark's youth.

Thanksgiving dinner! We didn't remember to take the picture until most of the food was gone, but that shows how good it was!

Gobble run on the trail with my hot date!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Slumber party in the basement

A fun dance routine performed by Christine and Savannah

Near the end of the month, school went to all virtual because COVID number were so high. It was a challenge expecially for Christine. The older girls didn't seem to mind too much. It was zoom all day long. Log on at 8:30, log off from 11:30-1 for lunch and break and then back on till 2:30. I taught Elena's class on November 30 via zoom. I was at the school and all the kids were at home. It was kind of nice to be able to check in on her throughout the day. They will re-evaluate every 2 weeks to see when we can go back to hybrid.

I'm trying to think of other things that relate to covid. Still wearing masks everywhere and anytime we go out. Lots of hand sanitizer and soap. They have to wear a mask at gymnastics too which can be hard. They still limit how many people are at places and at get togethers. The sisters can come in our house now to share a message, but still have to eat outside. We've been doing quick meals, but if it's too cold, they make a plate to go. In school, Abigail and Elena eat lunch in the classroom.
