Virtual Chalk the Walk

Last year we went to Mount Vernon for their annual chalk the walk event. Sherene and her girls have done it for several years and we were so excited to join in. This year we were scheduled to participate, but because of COVID-19 it became a virtual event where we could do our chalk drawing on our own driveway. It was nice to have the flexibility, but we missed being with all the participants and seeing the amazing work in person. The girls did an amazing job and because they were accepting all entries, we did several pieces.

We also ordered some Busken Bakery yumminess that got here just days before so we added that to our chalk designs and had fun getting all the smile stamps that we could. They made a fun quarantine cookie that we ordered to give to some of our friends.

Taping the border

The beginning of Adriana's creation

Christine wanted to do a sun with shading.

Adriana helped Savannah with the outline and she did a lot of the coloring in.

This is messy work!

I decided to do the Busken cookies! Normal and during COVID-19

Cookie fun!

John didn't quite get the smiley face, but still looks cute!

We went for a quick bike ride after and I still don't know how these 3 all fit!

The Rest of April

We are still home and coming up with different ways to keep ourselves from going a little crazy. The days seem to go by pretty fast, especially for me trying to keep things going with everyone home all day. We have been doing more cooking with Grandma Hansen most weeks, still trying to keep up with the homeschooling, having fun playing on the tree house, losing teeth and writing books! We also started making videos to go with our multiplication videos. Mark has worked hard to make them all look so professional. You can see them all on our new YouTube channel Tannerds.

The tree house is complete! Thanks to lots of hard work from Mark and all the girls!

Dinner outside

Christine lost a tooth! She pulled it herself.

Our TP supply was getting low and I started to stress about running out. When I asked on FB where I could find it, our friends the Mitchells left this on our door!! They are the best!!

As part of our science class, we got butterflies and loved watching all the stages.

Back after Christmas I found this bad guy on clearance. We all shared it and it was delicious!

The girls have started a book writing company. Here is Abigail's book

This is the book that Adriana and Elena wrote.

Measuring our shadows

Chalk art

Adriana did a life size chalk drawing of John

Savannah is HUGE about birthdays so we decided to go big for her half birthday! Breakfast in bed and brownies after dinner too!

Adriana wanted to sleep with John, but when he woke up at 5:30am, she crashed on the couch with him playing. He soon joined her and they slept till 10!

John loves ants and thinks they are 'so cute!' He lets them crawl around on his hands and arms.
