Halloween...with lights

We had a great Halloween and as the girls are older they enjoyed the festivities even more. The best part is that we had electricity. Our hearts have gone out to those affected by Sandy. We were reminded of last year when most of CT was out of power for a week or more. Halloween didn't really happen. Ever since, Adriana has associated Halloween with not having power. Since then she has also liked playing the 'no electricity' game and turning out all the lights. This year we were able to enjoy a little more and they even got to go trick-or-treating!

Making sugar cookies.

A play date with chocolate cupcakes! A real hit!!

 Trunk-or-treating at the church.

Elena is Pooh, Adriana is a ghost, Abigail is a Cat, Baby Girl is a jack-o-lantern, and Mark is Napoleon Dynamite.

We also got to go to the BYU-GA Tech game . . . and we won! 41-17

Fun carving pumpkins. We let them all color and decorate them since they couldn't participate in the carving part.

The finished project. (It is carved, but Adriana wanted to show off her coloring.)

Happy Halloween and a great November to all!

Fall fun

We have had lots of fun this fall and enjoyed the weather as it stayed warmer longer. Here are some pictures of what we have been up to!

Ice cream all day!

Making cinnamon rolls on conference weekend. Yummmmm, way better than store-bought!

Adriana has made great progress in soccer and enjoyed playing.

Her cheering team!

We took a field trip to the fire station. The girls loved to get inside the truck and see real firemen.

Having fun with the Halloween costumes. (Even the ones that are too small).

I had to include pictures of this. Abigail and Elena still take pretty good naps most of the time. On occasion they talk and play for an hour and decide they are all done. It is hilarious to listen to their little conversations! Other times they decide to take their clothes off, and diapers (some of which are poopy). Not very fun. On this day they had talked for awhile and then as it got quiet, Adriana and I checked on them and this is what we saw. No messes, but I was still amazed that they could still fall asleep like this, especially Abigail with nothing on! They are quite the duo.

Some samples of Adriana's artwork
We visited a farm and had fun looking at the animals and doing the activities they had set up. After visiting several last year in CT, Adriana had been asking for several weeks to go.
The hayride

Riding a pony
Abigail riding a pony. (Elena decided it wasn't as fun as it looked like)
This was a new one. A corn pit! Being from Iowa this was my favorite. As a kid, I loved playing in the wheat harvest truck at my grandparents house and this was just like it. It was hard to get them to leave.

Feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

This was the best shot of all of us, but oh well.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! More about that to come.
